Outside Vienna, in Vösendorf, lies the largest shopping center in Austria - the Shopping City Süd (SCS) (Literally: »South«)

    Giant shopping center south of Vienna

    Just outside Vienna is the largest shopping center in Austria. It has nearly 200,000 square meters of retail space, making it one of the largest shopping centers in Europe. Around 5000 people work in about 330 shops in Shopping City Süd. The Shopping City Süd can be reached from Vienna by car or by the Baden train.

    Regular customers drive for free!

    For regular customers, they used to operate their own bus service, but this was discontinued years ago. In the meantime, regular customers of the SCS can use the Badener Bahn for free with the customer card.

    Visitors from Austria, Slovakia and Hungary

    The shopping center SCS was opened on September 22, 1976 and was then expanded in four steps to the year 2006 intensively. Every year between 20 and 25 million visitors flock to the SCS shopping center. The origin of the visitors is, of course, mainly from Austria and the greater Vienna area. However, many visitors to the SCS come from neighboring countries Slovakia and Hungary.

    Over 50 restaurants and bars are available on the premises. The site of Shopping City Süd (SCS) in Vösendorf is about 1.6 kilometers long. These restaurants have over 260 shops that invite you to shop. In addition, the SCS has its own cinema and entertainment center.

    The gastronomy has extended opening hours and is also available on Sundays. On some public holidays, there are separate opening hours, which are regularly available on the SCS website.
